A hand water pump may cost from couple of hundred to over six hundred dollars.  Where as a water well would cost over $4,000 to dig a 400feet deep well all done manually, and takes over three months to finish

Digging a Water Well

Deep down the earth, to the depth of over 400 feet they dig the well manually one step at a time with no machine involved.  The digging goes on for over three months for them to reach to water level.  Once its built, then starts the process of water pulling out of well.  Occassionally, they use solar powered motors, but generally its been done manually with the help of donkeys.

For areas with no access to water such as THAR, and some areas of Baluchistan, Water is unavailable deep down the ground and to build a well, one needs to dig down over 400 feet. This is done all manually with no machinery available.  It takes about three to four months to dig a well  and get it ready. Often, there is an option to add solar powered pumps at additional cost.

Reverse Osmosis water purifier plant

Reverse Osmosis water purifier plants are installed where TDS is high and the sample submitted for testing is bacteriologically unsatisfactory. On most cases there is presence of E.coli, faecal streptococci and esterococci is suggestive of faecal contamination. An RO plant prevides pre treatment with Sand filter and Cartridge filer followed by post treatment ith Mineral Dossing system and Ultra Violet system.

Building a hand water pumps

In the hilly areas of Dadu and surronding areas, they use drillings to reach to water level deep down to around 200 feet (more like a twenty story building). They install a four inch casting, and then a two inch water pipe.  These are then connected to either a hand pump in most cases or a solar powered water motor.

It costs around $4,000 to build a well like one above.  In most villages, either one or two wells suffice the need of the villagers.  In absence of one, the villagers travel miles to get to the well in other villages.  We look for a location desperately needing the well, get the survey done, hire labors, manage the project and get the work started.  A gift as such this may be a Thawab Jaria for yourself and your murhoomeen.

Water filteration plant

Water filter is placed where TDS (Total Dissolve Solute) is low and high bacterial count. Chemical and toxin analysis is performed on the sample. An RO plant or a Filteration plant cost on average around $3,500 to $4,000.  A sample is sent to a reputable lab for testing prior to the work.  In most cases, these are installed in schools, orphanages, hospitals and clinics.  An outlay is also provided for general public to benefit from this clean water.
